The 750s is a remarkable car. It is shaped by a meticulously detail-driven approach. Down to the last millimetre. The exclusive 750s Speed Form sculpture commemorates the customer's ownership of the benchmark-beating McLaren.

Defined by beautiful form and tactility, this stunning collector’s piece has been designed by the same team, formed by the same production methods, and inspired by the same philosophy.

Abstracted. Yet unmistakable. This is no reproduction. No imitation. The 750s Speed Form is a standalone artistic interpretation of the supercar that inspired it. To create the sculpture’s design, we had to develop a new, simplified stylisation of the 750’s unique profile and visual language – focusing on key lines and signature details, such as vents, bumpers, and exhausts.

750s SPEEDFORM

The goal was to create a piece of contemporary art that would make its own aesthetic statement, yet at the same time offer a true small-scale representation of the full-size car. All balanced within the practical capabilities of the production process.

Each sculpture starts as a single block of aerospace-grade aluminium. Solid and stark. The billet is fixed to a CNC milling machine, where, over the course of two hours, cutting tools spinning at 40,000 rpm gradually and precisely cut the metal away. First in great swathes. Then finer and finer still, as the details resolve.

Yet there is no machine capable of bringing out the Speed Form’s stunning final appearance. So, for a further two hours, each plane and every tiny depression are expertly hand-polished – delicately removing burrs and machine markings to create a smooth, uniform surface.

750s SPEEDFORM

Last, but by no means least, the sculpture is submerged in an anodising bath. This enhances both the corrosion resistance of the metal, and the quality of its surface finish – like varnish on fine wood. Six-plus hours later – and following months of design development beforehand – the final Speed Form emerges from the workshop. An enduring tribute to the ownership of the 750s – and its place as part of the McLaren family.

Not only was the sculpture crafted with form and precision, but the packaging also serves not only to protect the Speedform but also creates a robust and innovative solution for displaying the 750s. The customer can use the packaging to proudly mount their 750s Speedform by utilising every aspect of the packaging, following only a few steps clearly visualised in an animation sent to the customers alongside their Speedform.
